Male Infertility Treatment
Sperm are microscopic cells produced by the male body. Typically, ejaculation is how sperm enter a woman's body during sexual activity. Sperm are produced, stored, and transported by the male reproductive system. This is regulated by chemicals in your body called hormones. The two testicles produce testosterone, the male sex hormone, and sperm. The scrotum, a skin pouch beneath the penis, is home to the testicles. Sperm exit the testicles through a tube located behind each testicle. We refer to this tube as the epididymis. The sperm exit the epididymis and enter another set of tubes just prior to ejaculation. The vas deferens is the name of these tubes. Every vas deferens originates from the epididymis and ends in the pelvis, behind the bladder. Every vas deferens joins the ejaculatory duct from that location. Your body's ability to produce and distribute healthy sperm is essential for male fertility. Sperm enter the vagina of the female partner. The sperm pass from her uterus to her fallopian tubes via her cervix. Fertilization occurs there if an egg and sperm come into contact.
